HISTORY
The locale of the study is in Marigondon National High School located in Maximo V. Patalingjug Jr. Ave. Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu, Philippines. Our school was founded by the late Atty. Domingo Berido in 1969. Most schools before had "Barangay" in their names. Thus, it was named Marigondon Barangay High School. During that time the school building had only four classrooms with 6 teachers and 22 students.
In the year 1980, students who stayed in the main campus of barangay high school gave the school an unofficial name “Saudi” while some students in elementary school dubbed their school as “Pilipinas.” Years after, it was changed to Marigondon National High School (MNHS) upon the enactment of the Batas Pambansa no. 60 series of 1984.
In the year 2000, the named Saudi and Pilipinas still continued. The Marigondon National High School was divided into two campuses: the main campus which was dubbed as "Pilipinas" by the students and the other school building located outside the area of the main campus as "Marigondon National High School (MNHS)", the present name of the school.
Now, the number of Junior and Senior High School Students of Marigondon National High School has approximately 6,809 students with 214 teachers and 10 non-teaching personnel.
